Reader mail

Good morning! I trust everyone slept well?

I'm trying to decide what to have for breakfast this morning. I don't want to overdo it with delicious Chicken Fried Steak, but I definitely crave something salty.

Two quick notes:

QN1; My phone seems to be dead. I'm hoping this is temporary, but I simply don't know. I didn't do anything to it. I forgot to charge it one night and when I came home from work the next day it refused to charge. So, I am basically incommunicado for the time being. I apologize for any inconvenience.

QN2; I have enabled comments on here. However, I do have many fans who may be offended by foul or suggestive language due to their age or religious beliefs. Therefore, I will be keeping this space clean and I ask that if you comment that you do the same. Thank you.

Today we will read some reader mail. My sagely advice is often asked on such diverse topics from child-bearing to gardening. So I thought I might use this venue to answer your questions. Don't worry, I will keep everything anonymous,

Dear Shamrock Jack,
I have a bit of a problem. My roommate and best friend is a really good-looking guy. All the girls think he is amazing. Also, he's quite clever. My problem is that I always seem to be in his shadow! How can I shine like a star when the Sun is out?

Thank you,
L. Briesemeister

Hmm, good question "L". I've heard about this kind of thing happening to other people, but I have never experienced it personally. I think that the best thing you can do is not try to compete with him, but rather find things that you are better at than he is. Perhaps spelunking?

Dear Shamrock Jack,
It is common belief that you are one of the great minds of our time. How do you handle this responsibility? Also, how do you think that you compare to some of history's other great thinkers?

Yours,
R. Goldmark

Thank you, I wasn't feeling particularly brilliant today and this helped considerably. It is indeed a burden, but I bear it with dignity. I am simply a humble man trying his best to make his world a better place.
As for your second question, people often ask me how I compare to the greats of history. After giving this quandary much thought, I have come to the following comparisons.

William Shakespeare- Less British
Abraham Lincoln- Shorter
Napoleon Bonaparte- Taller
Albert Einstein- Better looking
Aristotle- Less dead
Stephen Hawking- More mobile
James Joyce- Less boring
Charles Dickens- About equal
Michael Moorcock- Better in every way

One more letter and then it's time for breakfast.

Amazon.com, I know that you think you are clever, but just because I like comic books doesn't mean that I like all comic books. Also, Reginald Hudlin isn't that good of a writer. Why do you assume that because Warren Ellis is brilliant and I like his work that I will also like Black Panther?

I have decided on hamburgers and chicken nuggets for breakfast. Wendy's here I come!
